FIXED IN SECRET

“And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.” (Acts 12:8)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, the Angel of the Lord commanded Peter to gird himself, wear his sandal and his clothes, and follow him out of the prison. Before Peter was led out of prison, the Angel instructed him to get dressed and ready to move out of the prison. Peter was not going to get dressed after leaving the prison. He got dressed in prison, where eyes could not see him, before getting into the city where eyes could see him.

Friend, before the Lord leads you out of prison and into the city, you just might need to get dressed. God needs to fix you in the secret place before announcing you to your generation. God needs to remove the things in your life that are not okay before advertising you to your generation. God needs to get your inner man fixed before you rise to your high places. God needs to deal with your character before He advertises you.

Before Peter could enter into the city and places where eyes could see him, he needed to be fixed where eyes could not see him. You may be desiring a place in the ‘city’, where eyes can see you, but just maybe God needs to deal with who you are first, where eyes cannot see. Between today’s obscurity and tomorrow’s visibility, there is a change that needs to happen in and around you. God needs to fix you before bringing you out.

If you rush into visibility without being fixed in secret, you just might end up embarrassing yourself and the God who let you out earlier than He should. If you are advertised by heaven when you are still a raw, unfinished product, you might turn out a bad advert of a God who is perfect in all His ways. If you are more interested in going forth, without being fixed first by heaven, you just might expire as soon as you have emerged prematurely.

Don’t be counted amongst them that came forth prematurely and completely unprepared. Allow God to fix you and you will emerge out of obscurity and into undeniable visibility.

John 15: 2 says: “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

Declare With Me: O Lord, fix me before manifesting me, in Jesus’ name!
