YOU WILL LAST LONG

“And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?” (2 Kings 9: 31)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Jezebel asked if Zimri had peace after slaying his master. Zimri was a captain of the King’s chariots; he conspired and slew the king, and reigned as king for seven days, after which he killed himself by setting the palace ablaze (see 1 Kings 16 vs. 8-20). Zimri slew the king and became king, but he didn’t last long on the throne. So, when Jezebel made mention of Zimri, she inferred that Jehu won’t last long on the throne.

The spirit of Jezebel is that voice that says you may rise to the throne, but you will never have peace on the throne. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that says you will not last long in your new season. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that says you will be consumed by battles that meet you on the throne. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that says you will be elevated, but briefly, and then go down.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every satanic voice that says you will rise to be enthroned, but you will never have peace after you rise, I decree, that voice is silenced forever. I silence every voice that says your crown will become a crown of thorns. I silence every voice that says your elevation will be short-lived. I silence every voice that says your congratulations will expire sooner than later. I silence every voice that says you won’t last.

Zimri destroyed the house of Baasha, according to the instructions of the Lord, same way Jehu was to wipe out the whole house of Ahab; but his kingship was for seven days only, after which he killed himself. Jezebel wanted the same fate on Jehu. Hear me as I hear the Lord: powers that say you will fulfill the mandate of the Lord, but never enjoy the reward thereof, I decree, they will not prevail. Your rising will not be cut short.

The grace of God on your life is not for a moment, here now and gone now. The grace will speak for years to come. It will never be said that your rising was brief. It will never be said that you were enthroned, and died immediately afterwards.

1 Peter 5: 10 says: “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”

Declare With Me: My enthronement will not be cut short; I will last long when I rise, in Jesus’ name!
