THRONES AND CROWNS

“And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.” (2 Kings 11: 12)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, the priest brought forth the king’s son, and put the crown on him. Joash was anointed and made king. This was the same Joash who was hid in the temple, for fear of Athaliah. This was the same Joash who could not speak for himself. In the fullness of time, the throne became his possession. In the fullness of time, the crown was placed upon his head. In the fullness of time, he sat on the throne and wore the crown.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: it is your season of thrones and crowns. It is your time to be enthroned. It is your time to be elevated. It is your time for major congratulations. It is your time for the Lord to make good His promises to you. It is your set time to be given what is rightfully yours. It is your set time to become all that God has destined you to be. It is your set time to sit on new thrones and wear new crowns.

Notice that Joash was not even old enough to fight for the throne; he was not even old enough to demand for it; but in the end, the throne and crown came to him. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you may not be in a position to demand for it, you may not even have what it takes to fight for it, but it will come your way. God will set you in high places that you cannot fight for. God will position you on new levels you wouldn’t have asked for.

When it was obvious that Joash could not make it happen by himself, the priest summoned the royal and palace guards, and made the kingship of Joash a reality. There was no voice of dissent amongst the men of war who were summoned by the priest. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the hearts of men will be touched to facilitate your enthronement, and everyone will align. None will arise and scuttle the new throne and crown coming your way.

Welcome to your new season of new thrones and new crowns. Welcome to your season of enthronement.

Daniel 2: 21 says: “And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:”

Declare With Me: I sit on my throne; I wear my crown, in Jesus’ name!
