THE GOD THAT SEES

“Hagar thought, "Have I really seen God and lived to tell about it?" So from then on she called him, "The God Who Sees Me."” (Genesis 16: 13 CEV)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, Hagar described God as the God who sees her. Hagar had journeyed into the wilderness all by herself. She got into error by herself; she complicated her error by going to the wilderness by herself; she made choices that were not in her favour; but right in the wilderness, the all-seeing God, saw her. Whilst in obscurity, caught in the midst of her mistakes, El Roi saw her. She was in the wilderness, yet El Roi saw her.

Friend, in 2026, be intentional to always remind yourself that El Roi sees you. When the enemy reminds you of what you did wrong, remind yourself that you are seen by a God who already paid to have you close to Himself. Be intentional to remind yourself that El Roi sees you even if you are in the wilderness. Remind yourself that He sees you no matter what you are going through. Remind yourself that He sees you beyond what you see.

In 2026, El Roi sees where your strength is not enough; He sees every battle and conspiracy against you; El Roi sees the negative medical reports against you; He sees the arrows your enemies fired at you; He sees the wilderness you are caught up in; He sees where you have no man to speak for you or help you; El Roi sees when men turn a blind eye; He sees when you are spent in battle; He sees when you have judged yourself already.

El Roi saw Hagar in the wilderness, but He did not leave her in the wilderness. Get set: in 2026, the eyes of El Roi that see you in the wilderness will not leave you in the wilderness. The eyes of El Roi that are turned in your direction will not let you remain where you are. El Roi will take you out of obscurity. El Roi will change your story for good. El Roi will dismantle the systems that are against you. El Roi will dethrone the thrones against you.

All year long, hold on to El Roi, the God who sees you when no one else is available to see you. If El Roi be for you, you will not remain in the wilderness.

Psalm 33: 18 says: “Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;”

Declare With Me: All through 2026, the eyes of El Roi see me, in Jesus’ name!
