DON’T BE EMPTY

“Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.” (1 Kings 3: 16)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Prior to our Focal Scripture, Solomon had asked God for wisdom. Solomon had an encounter with God in a dream of the night, and he requested for wisdom. He had already become king, but he asked for divine capacitation. He got the throne by grace, but thereafter, he asked for capacity to discharge the duties attached to the throne. Solomon sought for divine empowerment to fulfill his assignment.

Friend, as you rise to new thrones and wear new crowns, do well to seek heaven’s capacitation. Seek the wisdom of God for every new level you attain. Seek that the capacity of heaven be bestowed on you. Ask God to fill you with the ideas you need to become all that He ordained you to be. Ask God for the foresight and knowledge to play at the level where He has positioned you. Ask God for capacity to match your greatness.

It may have been convenient to ignore the matter of capacity since Solomon had already become king, but it was not long before he faced the two women in our Focal Scripture. It was not long before the need for capacity stared him in the face. If you are busy enjoying a throne for which you lack capacity, it is only a matter of time before your lack of capacity exposes and embarrasses you. Your throne will ask for your capacity sooner or later.

Notice that Solomon already had the divine capacity to judge and adjudicate, before the women came to him. He gained capacity early enough before being faced with responsibilities that needed the capacity he had. Don’t wait for situations to expose your emptiness before you start to seek capacity for the roles that God has given you. Don’t wait to be embarrassed before you begin to grow your content and capacity.

You may already be on the throne, but at some point, your throne will make no sense if you lack capacity to sit on it. You may be on a height already, but in a matter of time, that height will call for what you have in you.

Isaiah 35: 3 says: “Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.”

Declare With Me: I will not be empty handed as I ascend to higher levels, in Jesus’ name!
