SEE THE STARS

“Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” (Matthew 2: 2)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When the wise men came to Jerusalem, they made mention of how they had seen the star of Jesus in the East, and had come to worship Him. The East as referred to in our Focal Scripture, speaks of Gentile territory. These were the territories of people who didn’t know God. The star of Jesus did not appear amongst those who should know Him; it appeared to those who shouldn’t have known. It appeared to strangers.
Friend, wisdom requires that you realize that not everyone will see the star in you. Some people who are close to you will either not see, or refuse to see the star in you. Some people who are close to you will not see the star that you are. Some people who should believe in you will not believe in you. Some people who should celebrate you will simply not do so. Some people who should be your number one cheer-leaders will go missing in action.
A new king was born in Bethlehem, and people who were in Jerusalem did not even see the star until the wise men showed up to say they had seen it. They were closer to Bethlehem than the wise men from the east, but they didn’t see the star. Don’t be that one that is close but never sees the stars in those around you. Don’t be the perpetually ignorant fellow that sees no star even when it shines right before your eyes.
The fact that those in Jerusalem did not see the star of Jesus did not change the fact that He was all that He was. Their lack of recognition did not diminish His destiny. There will be people who will refuse to see the star in you, but their ignorance does not and should not diminish your destiny. if they fail to recognize who God has made you, it’s their loss, not yours. If they fail to see your star, you still remain the star you are.
Remember, it is wisdom to see the star in people; but do not let those who are close to you, who do not recognize the star in you, to weaken your conviction.
2 Corinthians 5: 16 says: “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.”
Declare With Me: My eyes are open to see the stars around me, in Jesus’ name!
