“And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.” (2 Kings 11: 1)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

It is instructive to observe that whereas Athaliah was the grand daughter of Omri (see 2 Kings 8 vs. 26) King of Israel, she was the mother of Ahaziah, King of Judah. Athaliah was the daughter of Ahab, she belonged to the lineage that brought Baal worship to Israel, and in a matter of time, she was married to Jehoram king of Judah, and she managed to replicate the wickedness of Jezebel in Judah. Athaliah imported evil into Judah.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every ‘Athaliah’ that wants to import wickedness into your domain, I decree, they will not prevail. Every Athaliah that wants to replicate the evil that has happened elsewhere in your own domain, I decree, access is denied. I shut the doors and gates of your life against the messengers that introduce negativity. I shut your doors and gates against the wicked folks that attract negativity to you.

In the chronicles of kings of Israel and Judah, one could see that the ungodly kings were mostly the kings of Israel who were not of the lineage of David; the kings from Judah were descendants of David; but the moment Athaliah showed up, she made her son embrace the system of Ahab’s family. Hear me as I hear the Lord: every satanic relationship that will cause wickedness and negativity to be attracted to you, let fire answer.

The sad tale is that Jehoram, king of Judah, was the son of Jehoshaphat who feared the Lord; but he went and married Athaliah, daughter of Ahab, and soon became as wicked as Ahab (see 2 Kings 8 vs. 16-18). Marriage to Athaliah opened the gates of negativity. Be discerning to avoid connecting with those who open your destiny doors to negativity. Disconnect from relationships that connect you to your own destruction.

May it never be said that you willfully made the connections that exposed your destiny to needless decapitation. May it never be said that you connected to those who connected you to your own downfall.

Proverbs 13: 20 says: “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

Declare With Me: I disconnect from every Athaliah that opens the doors of my life to negativity, in Jesus’ name!
