REMEMBER HIS WORD

“In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.” (Matthew 28: 1)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When the women in our Focal Scripture arose, the idea was to go and check on the sepulcher of Jesus. The account of Mark (see Mark 16) says they bought spices to go and anoint His body. Notice that Jesus had told these same people that He would rise from the dead after three days. They seemed to forget what He said, and they journeyed to the sepulcher with spices. They forgot His words, and they ended in the sepulcher.
Friend, when you forget the word of the Lord, you may end up in the sepulcher. When you lose sight of what the Lord already said about you, you will end up in places that will not move you forward. When you lose sight of what the Lord has said, you will end up struggling with deadness and dead places. When you miss the point on the word of the Lord, you will end up journeying to places where the Lord already left.
The women made efforts, but their efforts took them to a place where they really had nothing to achieve, all because they forgot the words of Jesus. Forgetting the words of the Lord will make you waste efforts that would have moved you forward. Forgetting the words of the Lord will make you journey into oblivion, sooner than later. Forgetting the words of the Lord will make you lose time that you would have used while believing.
Instead of forgetting what God said, be intentional to remind yourself of the word of the Lord. Let the word of Christ dwell richly in you, in all wisdom. Let your faith be built on the word you have heard. Let your confidence be in the word of the Lord. Realities may alter, situations may differ, but keep your eyes on what God said. If He said it, He will do it. If He said it, believe Him to bring His word to pass. If He said it, don’t doubt Him.
Don’t be counted amongst them who do not keep the word of the Lord to heart. Don’t make the mistake of forgetting what the Lord has said.
Isaiah 55: 11 says: “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Declare With Me: I will not forget the words of the Lord, in Jesus’ name!
