“Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.” (Genesis 16: 1)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture introduces Hagar. Hagar was a handmaid. She was a slave. She was a woman of low estate. She was not one to be considered seriously. She was a vulnerable young woman living with Abram and wife. After she encountered El Roi, her destiny did not remain small. She moved from being a slave to being mother of a great nation. Hagar’s destiny was divinely ungraded after her encounter with El Roi.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2026, your destiny will witness an upgrade. Your destiny will be divinely upgraded. Your family will be divinely upgraded. Your ministry will be divinely upgraded. Your career will be divinely upgraded. Your business will be divinely upgraded. Your finances will be divinely upgraded. The works of your hands will be divinely upgraded. The gift and calling of God on your life will be divinely upgraded.

Hagar moved from being a mere slave who was thrown out of the house of Abram, to being seen by El Roi, the God who sees her. She moved from being an interloper in the promise of God upon Abram, to being a partaker in her own right. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are moving from your low places to your high places. You are moving from rejection to celebration. You are entering your season of divine upgrade.

You may have begun this year in your low places, but you will not end it in the same low estate you began with. You may have started in small places, but you will end the year in your high places. The same God who changed the destiny of Hagar and made her a partaker of the blessings, will cause you to rise from where you are and become a partaker of divine portions. The same God who helped a mere slave to rise, will cause you to rise.

Don’t write yourself off because of your low estate. As surely as the Lord lives, El Roi – the One who sees you, will lift your destiny to the next level. Your destiny upgrade is now.

Psalm 18: 33 says: “He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.”

Declare With Me: In 2026, I am raised by El Roi; my destiny is divinely upgraded, in Jesus’ name!
