PUBLIC SHAME

“Jesus told the man to stand up where everyone could see him.” (Mark 3: 3 CEV)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Jesus told the man with the withered hand to stand forth, where everyone could see him. Jesus called the man to stand where people could see him with his withered hand. Jesus eventually healed the man, but He began with an instruction for the man to stand where everyone could see him. When it seemed that the man had come to public embarrassment, his miracle came forth.

Friend, whenever it seems that your withered hand is about to become public information, be rest assured that God Himself is about to make manifest His mighty works through you. What seems like a public display of your travails is about to become occasion for the manifestation of the power of God. If God ever allows your struggles to become public information, then your miracle is about to become a public spectacle.

When the people in the synagogue thought that the man with the withered hand was about to become a public spectacle, Jesus had other plans, to make him the spectacle of His glory. Hear me as I hear the Lord: when men think your issues have become public debates, be assured that even God Himself is about to use that same situation to show off His might and power. Every public disgrace will make way for a public miracle.

Don’t lose sleep when it seems that God is allowing everything that concerns you to become public information. Don’t lose sleep when your battles become public information. Don’t lose sleep when the things you have been praying about become occasion for public embarrassment. The same God that caused the man with the withered hand to move from a public shame to public miracle will turn the tables in your favour.

Welcome to that season where your public disgrace is turning to a mind-blowing wonder. Welcome to that season where God is turning every challenge that has gone public into a miracle.

1 John 3: 8 says: “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

Declare With Me: In 2026, for every public challenge, I shall have public miracles, in Jesus’ name!
