IT’S A WARFARE

“And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and shewed them the king's son.” (2 Kings 11: 4)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

In our Focal Scripture, the priest summoned the rulers over hundreds, and captains of the guards, and brought them to the temple. These royal guards and palace guards were summoned in a bid to enthrone Joash as king of Judah. The new king was not going to emerge if there was no arrangement to guard him. Enthronement was not going to happen if there was no intentionality to enter the war mode. Joash’s enthronement was warfare.

Friend, enthronement is warfare. You may never emerge until you are ready to fight the battles for your enthronement. You may never emerge until you are ready to defeat the conspiracies against your enthronement. You may never rise to your high places until you deliberately get ready to confront the systems of hell that say you must not rise. You may never become who you are destined to become until you enter the war mode.

Athaliah was not going to sit back and watch anyone become king; and the priest made arrangements for men of war to be on standby for the enthronement to be completed. The Athaliah’s of this world are not just sitting around, waiting for you to become King without a fight. There are people around you who are ready to put up a fight to ensure you never emerge, and you will be missing your portion and rising if you aren’t set for war.

Your enthronement is warfare. Arise and wage war against the systems of hell that are opposed to your rising. Crush the wickedness of men in the place of prayer. Stand in the place of prayer, against the wiles of the enemy. Arise in warfare against the lying tongues that will be positioned against you. Wage war against the systems that are opposed to the new thing that God is about to do through you. Fight the good fight of faith.

If your treat your enthronement as mere comedy, you may move from expectation to premium tears. Arise and fight the battle for your enthronement. Your rising is a war; fight it and get enthroned.

Ephesians 6: 13 says: “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
