GROW IN SECRET

“Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:” (Matthew 13: 24)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture is centered on a parable of the kingdom, wherein a man sowed good seeds in his field. Like we earlier observed, the field was like an opportunity that enabled the seed to grow. Notice that the first thing that the ground does for the seed, is to cover the seed. Seed that are cast on the bare ground can be trampled upon, if not eaten by birds of the air. The field hides the seed until it grows and bears fruits.

Friend, one prayer you must make is for God to cover you until you grow enough for public manifestation. God may need to keep you away from the eyes of those who will ‘eat’ you before you become all that He wants you to become. God may need to cover you from the wicked eyes of those who may want to trample upon your destiny. God may need to hide your opportunities from those who want to kill it as soon as they hear about it.

Seeds in the ground have the potential for growth, but they will only come forth when they have mingled with the ground enough to grow. Seeds will not break forth out of the ground until the growth that should happen while in the ground happens. God may prefer to have you covered until you grow in secret. The spotlight may not be in your best interest until you grow your spiritual muscles away from wicked eyes.

Any seed that is more interested in being on bare ground, may be scorched by the heat of the sun. Any seed that refuses to grow in the soil, but prefers to be seen by passers-by, may be trampled upon by such passers-by. If you fail to grow under the cover of your ‘soil’, you may be scorched by the battles you are not yet ready to face. If you come forth too early, you may not last long. Avoiding growth in the soil, will cause your seed to fade fast.

Don’t be in a hurry to run out when God still wants you under cover. Grow until you are mature enough for manifestation. Grow in secret until the time of your announcing.

Luke 1: 80 says: “And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.”

Declare With Me: I choose to grow in secret; I will not miss my growth season, in Jesus’ name!
