CROWNED IN THE TEMPLE

“And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.” (2 Kings 11: 12)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

It is instructive to observe that the enthronement of Joash happened in the temple. Joash had been hidden in the temple for six solid years; and in the seventh year, the priest brought him forth to the people and anointed him as king. There were kings anointed in the open in bible times, but for Joash, kingship was birthed in the temple. The oil for kingship came on him while in the temple. His kingship began in the temple.

Friend, your enthronement will happen in the house of God. Your elevation will be birthed in the place of your intimacy with God. Your congratulations will come forth from the temple of God. Your new season will unfold as you follow after Jesus. There is oil for higher levels that comes on you as you dwell in the house of God. There is an elevation that is activated by your moments with God. There is a crown in the temple.

Joash dwelt in the temple, and when it was time for his enthronement, it happened in the temple. Men who dwell in the temple find their enthronement in the temple. Men who spend time in the atmosphere of the presence and power and words of God, find their enthronement in the secret place. Men who dwell in the presence of God are elevated as they dwell with God. Temple men eventually become kings from the temple.

There are men who may find their thrones and crowns on the streets; but there is yet another generation that finds their thrones in the temple. If you are a Joash, then focus on dwelling in the temple where the Lord has reserved your own thrones and crowns. If you have chosen to walk in the ways of the Lord, then be intentional to keep walking with the Lord of the thrones and crowns. Keep your eyes on God as you seek thrones.

Joash dwelt in the temple, and he gained a throne in the process. Keep your feet in the presence of the Lord; your thrones and crowns are waiting in His presence.

Psalm 92: 13 says: “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.”
