COME EXPECTING

“And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?” (Luke 8: 45)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Jesus turned around and asked about who touched Him. Peter reminded Jesus about the multitude that had been thronging and pressing. Several people were close enough to touch Jesus, but it was when the woman with the issue of blood touched Him that He confirmed that virtue had left Him. Some touched by reason of proximity; she touched with expectation of impact, and her result was different.
Friend, are you amongst those touching for proximity or touching for impact? Are you amongst those who are content with just having a position close to Jesus, or intentional enough to touch Jesus with the expectation of change and impact? Are you following Jesus like the multitude that followed but no record was taken of how their lives changed, or following like the woman with the issue of blood who followed that her life may change?
When the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus, virtue left Him; but the multitudes had kept thronging and pushing and touching, and power did not leave Him. Those who simply hang around Jesus, with no demands placed on His power and abilities, will not cause a flow of power in their direction. Those who come to Him without recognizing His power, are most likely going to leave the same way they came.
The woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus, and there was power available to heal her of her infirmity. She came to Jesus with expectations, and she left with her evidence. As you come to Jesus with expectations, He will respond with power to heal, to save and to deliver. As you come to Jesus believing that He is, and that He is a rewarder, He will reward you with mind-blowing evidence that terminates argument.
Be intentional as you walk with Jesus. Don’t be like they that care about position and proximity, with no concern for true change and impact.
Proverbs 23: 18 says: “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.”
Declare With Me: I come to Jesus with expectations, I leave with my evidence, in Jesus’ name!
